Final Double Page Spread Process

Final Double Page Spread Process

I have to create a double page spread for a music magazine - where I will use original images that I have taken myself and I will also have to create my own article and think of a story to write about. When creating the double page spread I had to make sure that it was like a 'Punk Rock' magazine, this is because this is the genre that I chose to create a magazine around. The double Page Spread will have to look like a Punk Rock genre as I will want it to entice people that are fans of Punk Rock music. I have created a few drafts for my double page spread, but the process I am going to show is the process I went through to create my final draft. In this post I will explain how I created my final product and I will also show what it looks like.

Here is how I created my final double page spread;

Double Page Spread Drafts

I changed a variety of different features while creating my double page spread to make it look as good as I could and also to allow me to use as many different conventions as I could. When creating my double page spread I spent a lot of time changing fonts, sizes and more. I have made 3 different drafts of my double page spread which have all been created on Photoshop, this also includes my final double page spread. I have created this many drafts to show the process I have been through and also what conventions or features I have changed throughout the process. Here are my drafts:

During the process of creating my double page spread, I had changed a variety of different conventions to improve them and to also make then look better and more appealing for the target audience for my magazine. Throughout this process I kept a lot of things the same. For example, I kept the text the same, used the same main image and used the same pull quote as the title. When creating my double page spread I did stick to my planning and tried to use all of the ideas that I had thought up of when planning my double page spread. I had tried to use as many conventions as possible, but when I did use some they did not look well on the double page spread, so I decided not to use them.

Double Page Spread Development/Progress

Double Page Spread Development/Progress

When it came to creating my double page spread, I wanted to plan it out to make sure I had some ideas before creating my double page spread straight away. I have created a few different drafts to show some of the ideas I have for my double page spread, which I will hopefully use when it comes to me creating my real double page spread. Although I would have spent time on these drafts, I may change my mind as to what I want my real double page spread to look like when I begin to create it, so some conventions will be different from the drafts I made, but I will try and stick to the plans that I originally created. Here are some of the drafts I have created;

Final Contents Page Process

Final Contents Page Process

During this process I have had to create a contents page for a music magazine where I will have to use original images that I have taken myself and I will also have to create my own feature stories which will hopefully entice the readers and target audience for my magazine. My magazine genre is Punk Rock which means I would have to use features in my magazine that would usually be associated with Punk Rock. I have created a few drafts for my contents page, but this process I am going to show is the process I went through to create my final draft. In this post I will explain how I created my final product and I will also show what it looks like.
